Reading Quickly is a Skill You Can Learn
I’m back to giving advice on reading.
The key takeaway from today is reading fast is a skill you can learn. I know this because I used to be a slow reader but I practiced techniques to not only read faster but retain more information.
One of the worst habits a reader can have is stopping multiple times while reading a sentence to try and take in each word individually. Our mind is able to process more information than we realize and you will retain just as much information from the text (if not more) if you cut down on the number of times you stop.
I personally follow my finger when I read but there are a number of strategies out there to help with your reading fluidity.
